About Dale's Fried Pies
Dale’s Fried Pies started when Dale Mackey began making fried pies for her friends and family in Knoxville, Tennessee. Encouraged by their positive responses, she decided to build a mobile pie stand to bring to farmer’s markets, festivals and private events. Dale’s Fried Pies officially opened in August of 2012, and is currently working on a mobile food trailer and a culinary incubator kitchen space.
Dale's Fried Pies wants to make the Knoxville community a more fun and awesome place. Towards that end, we established the Awesome Squad, which provides grants for young people to pursue creative projects as well as Random Acts of Pie, which delivers pies to deserving nominees in our community.
Dale moved to Knoxville in 2008 and plans to stay here for a very long time. In addition to pie making, she enjoys writing, blogging, making things, playing her ukulele and acting. She lives in a little white house with two cats, two hermit crabs and her dreamy husband Shawn.
